I've got these bugs since many weeks, since a Steam's Update in fact.

When I open my Steam's community's page, I cannot moderate members of my group (I am the owner of the group, i am not an officer or a normal member ):

- I CAN'T switch officers to normal members,
- I CAN'T invite other players to my group,
- I CAN'T post a comment on profil's users or on the main page of a group,
- And maybe other bugs i haven't discover yet.

Sorry if my english isn't so good, I'm french, but i hope you'll understand me :)

Please have a read over this thread (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=627897) on how to report SC bugs for investigation. Thanks!

Ok, so :

- A link to my user account : http://steamcommunity.com/id/51202654
- Name of the group "Communauté Generation Noobies" : http://steamcommunity.com/groups/groupe-geno
- I tried to change Steam's language, I switched French to English, and again English to French, but it doesn't solve my problem

I have the same bug with another group, I'm also the owner. Group "Team GeNo" : http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tgeno

I can't give other informations. I just can't moderate members of my group.

Another bug : when I go in "Recently Player" in order to invite them to join my groups, I click on "Invite" and ... nothig more, the player is not invited, i haven't a message which tell me "The player has been correctly invited" and the page doesn't load anything. I tried to reload the page and retry my actions, but it doesn't work too.

Please, help ! =(

Steam uses IE to render the pages. If your IE isn't updated then more then likely some functions wont work.

Sorry if my english isn't so good, I'm french, but i hope you'll understand me :)You say that you "can't" do these things, but you don't give any details, so it's not easy to help you. These features work fine on my groups, and I haven't heard complaints from other users. What happens when you try to promote or demote a user? Are you opening the editing page inside the Steam client, or in your standalone browser? Does the web page behave the same in both circumstances? What happens when you try to invite other users to your group? What happens when you try to post a comment?

I tried to update IE but the problem is always the same.

MikeBlas, 3 other users who are officers in my groups have the same problem (maybe the location ? We are in France). All right, this is what I do in Steam :

- I go in "Community"
- "View my profile"
- I click on the name of my group "Communauté Generation Noobies" ( http://steamcommunity.com/groups/groupe-geno )
- "Admin options", "Manage group members"
- The user "Ticøeuя Chεяяy" is officer, I want to switch her to normal member, so I click on the star.
>> You are about to demote Ticøeuя Chεяяy to a member. Are you sure ?
- So I click "Yes", and then ... nothing more. She stills officer in my group.

And now, this is what I do to invite other members to join my groups :

- I click on "Friends", then "Players" and "Player list - recent games"
- For the example, I'll take the user "=A08= pR3T4Xx. Traurig ),:" ( http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198001677159 )
- I click "Invite to join your group", and nothing more. The list of my groups doesn't appear.

I saw your comment, so i tried to answer you on your profil. I typed "Test", I click "Post" and then ... Don't you guess ? Nothing more ^^ My comment doesn't appear and I have no information about what happened (no confirmation or other).

Here is for more information on what I do and what I can see. I can't give you more because ther is no more ^^

Kronik - I've tested all the actions you're having trouble with, in IE6, IE8, in French, and using the same names as the profiles you're trying to act on, and they all work fine.

All the actions you're referring to use Javascript. Can you make sure that Javascript is enabled and that you don't have any plug-ins or add-ons running that might interfere with Javascript?

Thanks

Actually, I use Java Platform Version 6 Update 16, the latest version for Java.

I have no add-ons or plug-ins running during I am using Steam.

Tomorrow I'll reinstall Steam and see if it works correctly.

Since you use Firefox, are you usre you don't have NoScript running?
That blocks javascripts.

Can you list your add/remove programs? Something could be installed that is blocking your access to the Steam Community's functions.

Ok I've got the same problem and I can give you an answer.

It seems there is a problem between Steam and the new Firefox-like option in Internet Explorer allowing to automatically delete temporary internet files and cookies when you leave explorer (or when you do it manually too).

In fact, when you leave Internet Explorer it will delete these files, screwing up some of the Steam cookies and internet temporary files if Steam is not running.

So there is the solution:

1 - Launch Steam and enter your login and password, click connect then click on the community tab.

2 - Launch Internet Explorer.

3 - In explorer, go in "tools" / "internet settings" then under "browsing history" click on "delete"; there, make sure "internet temporary files" and "cookies" are selected, then click on "delete"(make sure Steam is running and on the community tab).

4 - In the steam Community tab, click on the refresh button; from now, your problem should be resolved.

5 - To prevent further problems, in explorer, go in "tools" / "internet settings" then in "browsing history" click on "delete"; there, make sure to UNCHECK "internet temporary files" and cookies, or UNCHECK "delete browsing history when you leave browser" in the previous menu to be sure that explorer will not delete these files again when you leave it.

I think it will resolves problems with Steamcommunity when adding a friend or inviting someone in you group, and when trying to send a private message to someone from his /her profile page.

Sorry for awfull english, I'm french too; so if someone understand that and want to make a clearer guide, go go go.

Thanks.

Edit: I've added a step about refreshing the steam community tab, without it it will not work.

I've reinstalled steam, and now it works. The bug didn't come from an other application, it's surely Steam. Thx for all !

That blocks javascripts.

He wouldn't have gotten the prompt if that was the case.

-My steamID page http://steamcommunity.com/id/seanigle
-Error: No profile, just shows up blank.
Happened on all three of my dt3 groups, normal, scrim, and warzone page. I've seen it on a few other clan profiles, same problem. At first, thought it was a hacker, because my email was flooded at the same time it happened, but now I see that was just a random occurrence, and this is a known bug. Hope you guys can help, I've already started a new dt3, and the same problem happened and I can't really do anything about it...

The missing group content issue is being discussed in another thread (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=982671).
