Changing resolution problem

So I just installed BioShock after having it for a while and every time I try to change the resolution it makes it into a sort of "windowed" view without it actually being a window and then shortly after it crashes. I'm running on Vista 64-bit if that helps.

I posted this in the BioShock sub-forum but no one has answered so I thought I'd try here since it deals with resolution lol.

Have you got the monitor to do this resolution? if not then the game will crash.
So check out the monitor specs before you try again dont forget the won't run above those settings :(
