I currently have a Geoforce 7600 GT video card.
Athlon 3400+ single core (oh yeah budget build from 3 years ago)
2 GB of DDR ram.
I don't run crysis
I installed windows 7 and managed to pick up two cheap external monitors. (30$ each) In addition to my original so Now I'm having trouble hooking up the third.
One of the monitors is already taken care of by the Geoforce card but the other one is not and now I need help figuring out what cards I can use that will work with my existing card in windows 7. I've heard that you have to use cards that use the same driver but I'm not 100% sure on that. here's the list I was looking at
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048%201069609642%201305520548&bop=And&ActiveSearchResult=True&Order=REVIEWS
So basically the queastion is what pci card won't have any compatability problems with a geoforce 7600 GT in windows 7

I meant the monitor.
You should be able to have one use the hdmi/dvi jack & the other use S-video.
That's what I do for 2 monitors.

oh I guess that wasn't very clear... I already have two monitors hooked up so it's a matter of the third one.

A 7600GT should have three ports, either two DVIs or a DVI and VGA, plus one S Video. I don't know if the S Video port will work if the two other ports are already occupied, and I haven't seen an S Video to VGA adapter before.

If the solution above is unworkable try this 8400 GS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130451 . Ignore the negative reviews. Some people thought it would run Crysis at 60 FPS on very high, at 2560x1600.

lhwj, only way to find out is to try it.
But is that card strong enough for 3?
It should do fine. 2D window mode hardly requires graphics power.
Aero *might* struggle to run though. My Vista laptop with a 8400M GS automatically disabled that when I added a second monitor.

They are funny. This is my favorite review:
Not for me
Pros: It fit in the box, everything there. More power for PCI
Cons: This did not work for me at all. I needed this card for gaming but not only did it fail but my older card worked better.
It Caused lagg and effected my IP as well.
I believe it is because that this card uses DirectX10 and I have XP with 9c.
The drivers however improved my older card.
Other Thoughts: Perhaps if I had a hacked directX10 for XP it would work better.
It "effected[sic]" my IP"? What does he mean? It messsed up his IP address?
And he is so talented he can "hack" directx!
He gave it one egg.:p

thats how you can tell someone doesnt know wtf their talking about. love how he blames the card being DX10 compat as a possible problem also.
and he didnt say he could hack DX10, he said maybe if he had a hacked version of DX10 that would work on XP the card would work better.
