In this link over here: http://www.dell.com/content/products/category.aspx/desktop-gaming?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

why is one computer so much more expensive than the other. They both have similar spec and everything.

Intel Core i7 975 > Intel Core i7 920
The Aurora ALX has liquid cooling, which is better than air cooling.
In your point of view: my computer is VERY similar to a friend's:
Mine has an Intel CPU (C2D 3,0), his too (Pentium 4 2,4)
Mine has an nvidia card (geforce 9600GT), his too (geforce 4MX)
Mine has RAM (2GB), his too (512MB)
*sarcasm*

All this to conclude that the name may be similar, but the product is totally different.

Alienware is totally charging big bucks for that Intel® CoreTM i7 975 3.33GHz.

What's funny is I'd prefer the less expensive one. It has a 5870 in it and you can OC they 920 to about the same speeds as a 975, with proper cooling.

As far as liquid cooling, I'm guessing the Alienware computers are using the ALC or some such thing, not that great and a good aircooler will beat it.

The Core i7 price difference is about $700 of that:

The liquid cooling is probably another $300 of that.
