With my system running at
Q8200 OC'ed 3.3GH/z idle 43.5 AVE for cores and dosnt go above 63C
ATI 4870 OC'ed core 790 mem at 990 idle 37C and load 60C at 75% fan speed and its an HIS card

Q8200 OC to 3.0. 48-52C idle and 57-66C load.
Radeon 4830 OC to 710/975 (575/900 stock), idles at 37 and peaks at 69C @ 100 utilization.

All in an Antec P180 case.

ihwj want's ambient temps. I am always from 73 to as low as 60. Literal 1C lower when the ambient temps are low.

Q9450 @ Stock 2.66Ghz :: 40C avg idle and 60C max load.
nVidia GTX280 @ Stock :: 55C idle and 85C max load, stays lower than that usually but crysis pushes it up there.

I have a Gigabyte 3D Aurora 570 case.

You guys would have to post your room temperature as well, obviously the temperatures would be different in summer and winter.

Q6600 @ 3Ghz with Noctua NH-U9B, idle/load: ~25/~55C.
AMD 4850, stock clocks with non-standard Sapphire hsf, idle/load: 40/65C.

Ambient temps range from 15*C in winter to ~35*C in summer. It raises the temps by about 5*C but games usually don't max the components anyway (either fps limit or not heavily multi-threaded).

Q6600 g0 2.4 Oc'd to 3.37ghz iirc 1.3v with CNPS9700 LED i think its currently spinning at 40% or 60% temps usually 36-45 idle/45-58 load depending on the roomtemp/the dust ive collected on the heatsink -___-..

Aaaand my gtx 295 is idling at 40c (40% fan) and now that im playing guild wars its at 60c (45% fan)

E8400 OC'd to 3.8GHz, CNPS9500 cooler with fan at 40%.

Idle: 27 Load: 39

It's ice cold in my room though, winter is coming along and room temp is about 18 which is normal temp for my room for wintertime.

your right but i dont know my room temp but its less then 18Cbecause im almost shivering. but an update on my teams My GPU ATI 4870 OC'ed core 780 mem 990 is at 32C O_o damn cold but i do have after market thermal paste on it and the fan running at 75%. Just a heads up if ur room teamps are cold u should have ur fan over ur GPU blowing in so that way it takes that cold air and puts it in the GPU. if its warm turn it the other way so u done get all the warm ait inside the GPU. So who ever has a AC and if u have a fan over ur GPU make sure its pointing in and u will lose alot of warm heat that way.

e8400 @ 3.4 ghz idles at 37 C and tops out at 58 C with Prime95. Crysis only pushes it to 53 C.

My GTX260 is another story. I've seen it go as high as.. 105 C. It's not OC'd or anything. So I'm wondering if I should up the fan speed from 40% to like 60% and live with the noise.

Well, I do care about it, to an extent. The good thing about it is that when it gets so hot that it needs the fan to cool it more, at a faster rpm, is when I'm playing some very intense game when I can't hear much outside my headset. However, I'm wondering if the gpu could somehow dynamically change its fan speed. Is there an app or setting for this?

How long have you ran this card at those temps? Just a round about answer like hours?days? Weeks? Months?

The reason I ask is because it is damaging the card, and it's not gonna take much more. You cannot game with a card like that and leave the fan at 40% rpm. The fans on them are poor at best, and they will barely keep up with the heat load. 75C is too hot. 80C is burning it up. 90C is damage. 105C?!?!? It surprises me you haven't heard the pop yet. At any rate, that GPU has been degraded, it's just a matter of how much of it is left.

Intel E8500 stock for now
9800GTX+OC
8 Gb's DDR2-800 OC'd to 902Mhz

and 4x500Gb HDDs, 1x 1Tb, and 1x 160Gb
inside a Cooler Master elite 355 case with two 12cm exaust fans.

CPU: 23C at idle and 36C at load
GPU: 38C at idle and i have seen it at 55C when i get done with something like Crysis. also i have my GPU fan hiked to 80% speed at all times through rivatuner. Also i have a rivatuner hardware monitor gadget for my windows sidebar. and asus PC probe to keep an eye on my temps at all times.

I wanted to run ductwork from my AC unit (2 feet directly above my computer) right into the vents on the side of the case, but... the GF wouldnt let me :(

room temp: ~20-22C

Then what u should do is buy another AC but this time open the side of ur case and then let the air go right on in. ull have better then a water cooling system XD or pretty damn close

those are very dangerous temps for any GPU. Ur lucky enough ur Vram hasnt gone yet. u should have a AC in ur room and probably just mount ur computer to the cold air slots so u get better temps.

Truly i would only give that card at those temps another 3 months tops dude. find somthing to cool it.

I can't say for sure how long, because I've not been monitoring it extensively for long. I've watched it here and there and normally it wouldn't exceed like 85 C.

Anyway, I just dug this (http://www.evga.com/support/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=58042) up:
Question / Issue
What is the maximum operating temperature of the GTX 260?

Answer / Solution
The GTX 260 has a maximum operating temperature of 105°C. Temperatures in excess of 105°C are considered unsafe and may be damaging to your hardware.

Having temps above 90 is a scary idea for me, but this is somewhat reassuring.

Come to think of it, it's possible that the temps only started going crazy after a software overclock. That was the first time I saw crazy temps (but like I said, I haven't been monitoring it like crazy either). I then reverted it to factory settings and though temps did drop, apparently not in all cases.

I'm gonna run Furmark right now and see how hot it gets in 7-10 minutes..

Ok, so at 40% fan speed settings and 1440x900 + 16xAA, it got to 99 C after less than 3 minutes. At this point, I increased the fan speed to 100%, and it dropped to 83 C. Though the noise at this point is quite unbearable.

dude open ur card. im thinking u have to have some dust in that thing. these temps are way off the charts.

Will do. I guess it's been about 3 months since I got it. My case is famous for dust accumulation, even with front dust filters.
