Long story short a man of questionable morale jacked my laptop while I was working on it. Ithad integrated graphics so its not that much of a loss but I'm still angrier then the angry sun from SMB3

How well would this MSI laptop run TF2 if I crank all the settings on low?

If by "destroy" you mean "take an hour to load with 5400 rpm hard drive"

More like 10 seconds to aminute.

I was playing on a Dell Inspiron 1525 with a 5400rpm hd, a t3200 dual core with integrated graphics. Load times are not an issue once tf2 opens

I have a Dell Studio 15 with a Core 2 Duo P8600 (2.4GHz, 3MB L2), 4GB DDR2 memory, and an ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4570 256MB GDDR3. It runs TF2 very nicely at my native res (1366x768) with all settings except AA and AF all the way up (those are both at 2x). You might consider that.

For the record, the ATi 4330 is essentially the same card as the 4570, but with significantly lower clocks. And there's really no good way to overclock the 4xxx series laptop cards yet without altering your VBIOS, which I do not recommend.

Do not buy a laptop with a Pentium processor. They're old and unreliable, they're also slow.

This laptop is $799, but it will run TF2 well. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220590)

What? I would have run after him and would not have hesitated to use physical force to knock him down.

Then again if you're in the U.S.A. you probably would have gotten sued while the thief gets away with zero legal consequences...

Current 5400rpm drives are faster than the old 10k Raptor drives.

I did run after him. I'm also leaning towards that lenovo laptop which hasa core 2 duo in it. Thoughts? Keep in mind I'm not trying to break $750 since I'm on a budget

Ffffffff that laptop is almost my desktop I had, but its $850 :( I might be able to barely afford it

I think we have a winner here folks. The only flaw is that its an AMD but it looks like I'm going back to myroots with it. Thoughts on this one?

In terms of GPU the last one you posted (that HP Pavilion) has teh best graphics processor. THey all have generally good CPU power so its a bit of a nonissue. ALl the other ones have terrible graphics as well, and that HP fits your budget. It's GPU IS of older generation, but so is TF2

i used to run tf2 cod 4 and all my games in an old IDE 5.400 drive and they run just fine.

Current 5400rpm drives are faster than the old 10k Raptor drives.

thats true i dont know why this notebook-HDDs-are-slow and low rpm drives are slow stereotype still exists..
