What is the most ideal fan case set up for overclocked cpu. I currently have a NZXT lexa case, 120mm in the back for exhaust, 120mm in front for intake, 120mm in side window for exhaust,80mm on top also for exhaust.I have a q9400 oc to 3.2ghz with ac7 cooler. The idle Temps are 33-36c depending on room temp, load temps are 48-52c.Gpu 4870 1 gig stock settings, idle temp 30-34c, load 46-55c.

Side fans are usually intake fans. That way they can blow nice cool air right on your components.

I always thought, that it would be better to have the hot air from gpu being pulled out be better?

you want Intake in the front and side panel and exhaust going out the rear and top.

The general idea is to get the air moving from the front bottom to the rear top of the case.

you also want the intake and exhaust to be equal amounts. Thus providing a smooth flow of air.

If you can add an intake on the bottom too. Ive got front and bottom for intake, and 2 on the top for exhaust along with another on the back for exhaust.
