Well the cars that I liked the most so far are these ones.

Tier 1

Nissan 350Z(Z33) : I just liked this car, once I had it was able get ahead of everyone pretty quick. Well T1 was somewhat easy thou.

Tier 2

Lotus Elise 111R: I just picked this one because it looked good and it was fairly good to drive with too.

Chevrolet

Tier 3: Ok this is where the problem arise.

I bought the highest priced Lamborghini among those cars with max upgrades, Wet Works but on the Endurance Dakota Tri Oval map. There is still this guy who just speeds away. I drive at 250 Km/h at top speed on the long lanes but the guy is driving up in at least 300 Km/h none stop. This is also with turning all the tuning settings to Speed setting instead of Grip and Accelerate.

So does anyone know which car you need to use to beat the AI who just speeds away from you. Also he was leading with 1 minute and 20 seconds before he hit the end. Driving past me 2 times. No I didn't flip out or anything. My overall speed was 200 Km/h in the turns thou.

I tried a fully upgraded Porsche 911 GT2 but it wasn't close either. I will try with all the Speed tunings on and then Pro setting on too to see if I can catch up with him. >.>

It's also troublesome on other maps which focus on tracks with long straight roads. Because then the AI just get a super boost on all of them.

Either get the same cars they have or they are rubber banding you m8.

I actually find the best thing is to have good acceleration (if you have nitro, all the better) and use that acceleration/nitro to get in front of the competition as soon as possible. It is very easy to block in this game, but harder to catch up.

And with the Nissan 350Z, I found I had a hell of a time controlling that thing when it was all fully upgraded. The extra boost of torque every time I shifted always caused my car to lose stability or spin the wheels. I had to be so careful with the accelerator that eventually I just turned on traction control.

sorry to go slightly off topic OP but in this game, does it really matter on the tuning? Tuning can be fun sometimes but sometimes i just want to race and be even, is that possible or you have to tune alot in Single Player and multi player?

Tuning can help a bit but it's only really noticeable when you either max it in one way.

Putting on Speed instead of turning makes your car less good.

Quickdry: Hmm well every car seems to have that ability though.

Oh and don't bother with Lamborghini on Tier 3. It can't hold it's grip for all it's worth. The back tires just slides away at every single turn. I'm not even speeding.

But I have a problem with Tier 3. They don't seems to have Turbo for me. Or it's just hidden. Because before I had this little Turbo can that I could see. On Tier 3 it's gone and holding the turbo button doesn't seems to help.

I tried some other races but it looks like the same super user have the same ability on other maps. He just speeds away at such silly speeds it's annoying.

Oh and here's a funny thing, my top speed limit is 350 KM/H with the Porsche but I only get up to 240 KM/H at long ranges and it stops there.
Bull I call on that one. >.>
Porsche can't seems to buy Wetwork either, that or I need to drive around a bit. But I kinda lost the will to do that because I had to put on easy before I could bypass the Medium AI.

If you're talking about nitro, then many try considoring the fact that works cars don't have nitro ))))) if you are driving a car than can't have nitro installed or you used works upgrades nitro won't be there....

Upgrading your cars to Works drastically decreases top speed because of the immense downforce created by the body kits. And it's a well known glitch that once you touch tuning with a Works car, you've basically broken it. Don't Works upgrade any cars until the patch comes out. All you can do is sell the Murcielago and re-buy it, upgrade it just short of Works. All the works cars struggle to get past 240Km/h because of the body kits. You'll notice that putting non-Works body kits on the cars will also drop the top speed, but not as drastically in some cases. If you wish to preserve top speed, don't buy any body kits. This makes the cars harder to control through corners and slaloms, but top speed is maintained.

I have unlocked all the tie cars , Pagani Zonda R is the fastest one for which it`s a piece of cake to pass 350Km/h .

I wish I read this thread before I got to lvl 50 and worked most of my cars that I have purchased. Does this mean when they finally get around to releasing the update to us steam users that I will have to sell those cars and re-work them?

You can sell cars and cars with upgrades/works back at full price it cost you to pay for it all. Most racing games will refund you an small fraction of what you paid for a car/upgrades but Shift does not and will give you all your money back.

For me the easiest to get the top performance out of a car is check the performance stats and buy things that plus but dont buy things that JUST minus driverain thing you must buy to get most speed out of the gears but rest not so much i got 322 kph with lamborghini michelago which doesnt suck so bad. o and another thing thats a bit off topic the nissan skyline gtr (r34) if you upgrade max the top speed is like around 504 on paper but in action 220 - 250 about and its accel from 0 - 60 was 1, something its most probaly a glitch or someone was bored being accurate when making the game

I'll put it bluntly, I don't bother with this game and moved onto Grid as it feels much better.

It's just that the game feels to unreal when I drive onto the dirt and gets your speed cut to 1/5 of the normal speed. Not to mention it's getting way to bumpy on the off road part.

Not to mention the boring driving modes where you're forced to a crappy car. Which stats are at the near bottom. That is just not fun to play with.

I liked the way how they made the crashing part and it kinda blacked you out.

But I'm not gonna stay in this section anymore and I think some of my suggestions might not have been the best ones either. I just pick for style mainly. :D

I noticed the speed decrease, but changed gearing and downforce front and rear on my lambo it's awesome now.

tuning is awesome to personalize a car, i've done Pagani and Murcielago (having trouble wth this), and like the OP i had a Lotus at 9.99, however i think 14.00 or more is best in tracks with slow corners (takes forever in 6 cylinder).

but there are manufactuere races where you can select the vehicle, no tuning is available and you all reace on an even playing fiedl (er track, w/e).
