Failed to contact key server

Just bought the game and am unable to play it, I get the above message every time I try to launch it.

Tried all the usual things like renaming clientregistry.blob and temporarily disabling firewall.

Anyone have any ideas?

Same problem here, maybe the key server is a bit stressed at the moment.

Same here. I think it's like what happened to Pray when it was on sale, all the CD-Keys sold out
Also there is another thread about this issue here, I checked the times and it appears your thread was first

I'd create a support ticket demanding a key or my money back but the freakin support registration links are broke.

Demand? It does happen a few times where some keys fail to register. Steam/Codemaster will get on it - but demanding?

Sometimes an offer can be too successful - even on Steam for Valve...

Steam has now been selling a product they know well they can't deliver currently for days - I'm not sure how other laws goes but that is illegal by Danish law.. and I sure would expect it to be so in other nations too..

And as customers who have paid for a product that hasn't been deliver and was sold to us witjout information about the key shortage I think it's quite fair for us to "demand" something done about it after all money has shifted hands, yet no working product have been given to us..


It's a tiny amount and a game I can easily live without so I'm not going to go ape over it, but it sure makes me wonder exactly what it is Steam is doing and how risky it is to buy other games on sale or at launch where demands are high.. especially when you can see they keep on selling it despite having known about this issue for days now..

The Fuel game page clearly states that they are out of keys and will be getting more soon. I knew this when purchasing yesterday morning. For the people out there who are like omfg! I need this game, get a life. At the price we are picking this game up for we can wait a few days. And for those of you who are going to say I didn't see the notice, well shouldn't you read game pages first anyways? Especially when some say Not compatible with Windows 7, the store pages do hold valuable info.

I bought my copy several hours after it went on sale and I got my CD key. It installed and automatically logged me into GFWL without problems. So it must just be that they sold out on CD keys and will get new ones soon.

Hey Guys. We have temporarily run out of keys for FUEL and more have been requested. You can still purchase the pack and play the other games. When we have more keys, FUEL will unlock for you automatically. Our apologies!
