Hi Guys,
Love this game ... but uncle Sid would not have been happy to release it as it was ... but when your bought out by another company{2K} your no longer in control ... and this is the end result.

Now too the good news.

This place is the holy grail for anything to do wiyh SMR, and are these guys dedicated.

They have an up to date wiki covering all aspects of the game, it's issues and the work arounds to get it up and running rock solid. How to make your own custom maps etc.

If that wasn't enough ... they have 98 custom made maps call SAM's {stand alone maps} that you can download and play ... and some of these maps are massive in size ... and much more fun than the orginal maps.

I'm currently developing new rolling stock and goods to add to their library ... others are working on new maps etc. My tag over there is Dataman so drop in and say G'Day.

That site no longer allows new registrations. New registrations are required to download content. Best to get the SMR mod (plenty of new content in it). http://www.moddb.com/mods/sid-meiers...tercontinental

That site http://www.sidmeiersrailroads.net Does allow new Registrations and it always has allowed them.
It has all the newest mods which include all of the SMR Intercontinental mods and Maps, Also it has an very good up to date Wiki as well.

So i dont know what you did wrong or you just could not be bothered to register. A lot of websites require registration these days to try and stop all the SPAMMER posting.

As for that SMR Intercontinetal Mod It is old and outdated and has never been repaired.

nobody forced "uncle sid" to sell out.

i honestly think Civ IV + BTS is genius. everything else done this millenium by firaxis is complete crap and he should be ashamed to have his name associated with it. (OK Civ III wasn't that bad, but it was the beginning of the decline, for sure.)
