How do you activate cheats?

So I'm stuck on a level and have decided that I'm gonna lower myself to the cheater level and cheat for a bit to get passed said particular level. With that said, everywhere I go to get cheats for Chaser, it says that while in the game, I need to press "`" first to bring up the command line and then type whatever cheat I want. The problem is that when I hit "`", nothing happens. No command line comes up. Any of y'all know what could be wrong? Is it something to do with Steam?

I did it both in the desktop shortcut and in the Steam ui:
1. Launch steam.
2. Right click chaser > properties.
3. Choose Set Launch Conditions.
4. Type "-" (w/o quotes). It should bring up something like tg_give-. Just add "console" to it.

Top most cheats gotten from some site (cant remember where, sorry).

Okay, so I got it all working, except for some reason, I can't activate the God mode cheat. When I do that, it says command not found. I can activate any other cheat, just not that one. Needless to say, I finally made it past that level.

Yeah.
Its wierd.
I am at the part

Spoiler:
where you have to kill the guy that double crossed you. The one with the 5 billion automatic machine guns mounted in the cieling and the walls.

I REALLY need god mode here.
I got god mode to work 1 time (when I posted the cheats above).
I shut steam and the machine down.
Now, I cant get god mode to work anymore.

it was tricky but not that hard.

Spoiler:

I ran backwards to where there is like a crate maze on the left where you are safe. a gun will eventually open up here. you can pop out, take it out, same for enemies. save a lot. move forward slowly, kill enemies + guns, save, repeat.

AFAIK, God & Flight were taken out in the Version 1.50 patch.

Defending the truck is extremely hard. I always take out any guys shooting at the truck first then clean out the other areas, then back to the truck. If you die enough you will notice the pattern and it becomes somewhat easier. Then it's just grinding until they stop spawning.

Actually Dave and jiminator, that was NOT the part. It was when you had to defend the warehouse and, more importantly, that big truck. It felt like that level was never gonna end and that enemies would just keep coming and coming and coming. But eventually, it ended.

P.S. I hope what I said didn't spoil anything. I don't know how to put the spoiler censor over what I write.

So, "spoiler" within the brackets with no spaces and no quotes.
Then, type what is the spoiler.
Then do the same thing as above, except this time use the following text:

Within the brackets.

I'm playing on hard and enjoying the challenge. The truck took a few tries though. I thought defeating Kabir would be tough but not so bad with the sniper rifle. I enjoy the game a lot except for the level design on a couple levels. I wish you would have to choose a loadout for each mission. Why should we get every gun with full ammo every time?
