It looks like R.U.S.E. will be using Steamworks instead of Ubisofts Always Online DRM
http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/70...-To-Steam.html
Looks like a good move. Hopefully Assassin's Creed brotherhood will do the same. |

Sweet, hopefully they completely ditch their ♥♥♥♥ty DRM and just get all of their games on Steamworks.

I wonder if we'll see an influx of "I AM GOING TO BUY R.U.S.E" threads.

Nah you'll probably just see less hate threads.

That was the main reason for me not buying this(that and having way too many RTS games to play)

They probably realized the cost of DRM servers far outweighs the cost of piracy, heh, funny, cost of piracy, get it?

Instead of Ubisoft 24/7 online DRM they're using Steam 24/7 online DRM.
Clap hanz....Bravo.... |

Seriously don't see the real difference between Ubisoft's always on DRM system and Steam when it comes to a game such as this one which is primarily pushing the online multiplayer component (especially given that Steam's offline mode is broken).

"steam activates the game online then you can play it offline"
Except for 2 points: 1 - Offline mode doesn't work for a large number of people (including myself) 2 - How are you going to play the multiplayer part offline? Now if this were single player only game and offline mode actually worked, then there'd be a real reason to celebrate. But not in this case. |
