Australians won't buy your games if you insist on doubling the price of every game.

Every single 2k game is nearly double the price in Australia than in the US, I can't quite understand how you can get away with that on a digital distribution store, I'm not going to pay $90 while Americans pay $50 (Mafia 2), or $50 when Americans pay $20 (Bioshock 2).

This is a complete joke and if you wonder why you have low sales figures in Australia this might be part of the problem.

Yep, Mafia II double the UK and US price. Would have bought it if it was offered at their prices, but as it is, I'll pass.

And let's not forget that some games aren't even available here (without any explained reason - ie. they're not R18+ games).

The problem is they probably still rake in the sales because it's cheaper than local retail..

I won't buy games on Steam unless they match US dollar for dollar while they charge us in USD, if they want to rip us off or 'equalise' with the local market.. then they can damn well set up locally, charge in Australian dollars and pay their taxes to our government - until then it's an import and I won't be paying more just because they feel they can.

The 3rd. cheapest on the list is Steam. The top two I haven't read positive feedback from and at the present moment in time Steam is your best option.

gamecafe.com.au/PC/prices.aspx

Take the Steam deal and stop all this worry. It is not getting you where you want it to get you.

I completely agree, people should always check the prices on the US store and boycott games with regional pricing.

Shall I assume you get the US prices? Would you be willing to pay double the normal price for the games you buy, for no apparent reason?

no, I am Australian and I too once was in the dark about where to find the best deals on pc games.

I buy from steam and ozgameshop only now. Before Christmas last year I would only buy from EB Games or Dicksmith.

The light was turned on for me by some people here. I thank them!

Cheers!

And they do it again with DNF...
Thank god I *could* buy from UK/US Steam... or OzGameShop....
Or I could take other measures...
or I could not buy it...

2K this is bloody ridiculous

We are getting ripped off, I am not buying it at this price.
It should be illegal.

"Save 10% on DNF now!"

I am going to be saving like 20% buying this retail and activating it on steam.
This makes no sense for countries like NZ and AUS where it's cheaper to buy them local/retail.

Does buying off the US site work? I'm frankly tired of being screwed over like this for a f*in digital download. The aussie dollar is HIGHER than the US dollar, yet we have to pay significantly more?
