steam and direct2drive

I bought this game long time ago on d2d....i have the product code on d2d but when i activate the game on steam; it says invalid code

to play this game on steam you have to buy it on steam.
you only can activate game on steam like Counter Strike or Team Fortress 2. those games are make for being activate on steam and didn't work if not activated. you only can play timeshift with the DVD and de code is to play it online.
