HUD not at top of screen with 4:3 Resolution

First of all great game, look forward to getting into it, but the HUD is a bit intrusive. Yea, I still run a beautiful 4:3 Pro CRT monitor at 1856x1392 resolution, the HUD is about 2 - 2 1/2" from the top of the screen, kinda gets in the way. Looks like it was made just for wide screen displays.

So is there any way to adjust this in a config file or possibly an aspect ratio selection setting added in an update that would put the HUD at the top of the screen where its supposed to be?
