Nimbus Ghost Database

Hello everyone!

In collaboration with Noumenongames i've made this neat page where you can upload you're ghost files and share them with everybody.
And of course you can download others and race against their times.

http://www.nimbus-world.net

updates for 2011-03-31
- Added world rankings for average times
- Added videos for alle time attack achievments (and some more)
- Added a world score for each user giving points for ranks 1-10

updates for 2011-05-05
- Added videos for hidden secrets and coins from World 1 and 2.

updates for 2011-07-04
- Top ranks now require all 80 levels to be completed
- Added Total time and Time diff field for top ranks
- Added average speed for users who uploaded their ghost files
- Reduced the frequency of rank updates and usernames to 30 minutes

Any feedback is welcome

cheers,
phoenix

PS: the site uses the a lot of new web-stuff, so be sure to use any modern browser to visit it (this excludes MSIE)

That's cool, still working on a few boards and want to make another pass at the worlds and try to get sub 26 global, then I'll put mine up. Anything much lower than that would require a ridiculous effort to optimize.

thanks.
you could of course upload your files now and then later the impoved ghosts
the site is smart enough to only get new ghost files with better times, so you don't have to handpick them.

also some time soon i will import the current global steam leaderboards of all levels.
this will also include a lot more statistics then currently available in the game.

stay tuned

Improved every board but 1-1 and 4-1 to top 10.. 26.274 now. I need to find about 20 seconds worth of improvements. 4-1 has about 5 if I can figure out how ppl manually got to the easiest exit.

I gave up on 1-1 after 10+ 4.219's and 4.220's heh.

as i just did 44 seconds on 4-10 i think it can be done even better.
i made 2 slight mistakes where i could have gone faster

but i don't think i'll be going for a 26 second average, mostly because i have never finished the last level on hard which probably would save ~20 seconds.
that thing just drives me crazy, tried for hours and hours and it's just too long.

go upload your ghosts then

The final level gave me a bit of trouble until I realized that half of it can be done just by being in the right place with max slow. I uploaded my final level if you want to take a look.

cool, i'll check it out.

*edit*
ah well, i tried that tactic before. it still kills me every time in the 2nd or 3rd section of the map. and because that always takes 1-2 minutes per try it's so damn tiresome.

I forgot all about 4-12 heh. I had left 20 seconds worth of improvements on that board alone. 25.903 now.

I uploaded the zip of all my ghosts. My lead will get whittled down now heh. Just wanted to be the first to break that milestone. I think 25 would be possible to break, but would require so much more work and matching nearly all the #1's. I'd have to find 65 seconds to improve on. There are boards with 5-7 seconds each though.

i don't hink you're in much trouble up there, not many will challenge you.
i'll try though

but first i need to fill the tables with the leaderboard data, it will give this racing effort much more meaning

4-10 the bulk of the savings was a clean bounce to red. I'll pop the ghost up after a bit.

The ones where I'm still trying to figure out the top times are:
1-7b, 4-2, 5-2, Christmas 1D

1-7b comes down to a perfect run, not making the slightest wrong move. i gave up on it after reaching my current rank in ~50 tries.

4-2 same as 1-7b, you just need to skip the 4th and 5th black holes and make a perfect run.

5-2 oh yes i've tried that many times. even saw a video of it but could not redo it myself => http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z68h7TR0Vs

xmas 1d is a mystery to me aswell. i've tried so many different routes, none of them gave me anything below 26.
maybe if you go straight up from the 4th pad, and skip the lower run you might be able to improve your time, i just managed it once and was able to finish the level, with no better time though.

1-7b I've had clean/fast runs.. another full second just didn't seem possible unless you could somehow double bounce off the bottom left speed zone somehow.

4-2 is a matter of max speed, just not sure how he built that much up. On my ghost I build up a lot in the first black hole, but 3 seconds is a very big diff.

xmas 1D I can skip the extra two pads, but it hasn't been a time savings b/c you limp into it so slowly. That's the only shortcut of a 4 second saving that I can come up with though.

Good 5-2 vid. I can cut through the spikes on the lower left like 10% of the time. I think if you use easy cheese after blue key you'd come out ahead of that video's run.

updated the site with some new stuff:

- synced with the steam leaderboards to show all scores
- added level speed-run videos (most of the christmas-world and 3-5c)

have fun
