Game does not work with Kaspersky Antivirus program
Admins and or Moderators please sticky this post.
The game Mirror's Edge does not work with Kaspersky program. If you have Kaspersky installed then you will have to... #1 Uninstall the program in order for Mirror's Edge to work OR #2 Uninstall the current build 11.0.2.556 and reinstall an older version 11.0.1.400. This is a problem that they know about, but have yet to find or implement a fix for it... at least not yet. Thank you. |

Almost two months passed and Kaspersky labs haven't released a new version yet.

Yeah, the same thing happens with Unreal Tournament 3. You will have to install version 556 for it to work, to either an older build or the 2012 beta.

Just started up Mirrors Edge today for the first time on my new PC, and nothing at all happened, not even the splash screen. So I came to the forums here to check what it might be. Tried a few things like uninstalling physyX and installing the newer version because I now have an Nvidia card, tried running in all the compatibility modes because I'm now on windows 7 64 bit, but none of this did anything.
Then I see this thread mentioning Kaspersky, which I use. I haven't tried uninstalling or rolling back the version, but I guess I'll be uninstalling it whenever I feel like playing Mirrors Edge ![]() How can an anti-virus program stop a game running anyway? I know it can block a part of a program's usage, but I didn't know it could block a program entirely without your consent. |

I switched to KAV version 11.0.2.556 not so long ago. When I saw this thread I got a bit worried and decided to test Mirrors Edge, and the game seems to run for me fine right now (win xp 32bit sp3)
When I ran Mirrors Edge for the first time with kaspersky 11.0.2.556, the splash screen hung for about 3-4 minutes and some heavy scaning happened in the background but after that time the game launched and worked. ps. same with Unreal 3, game works for me. |

Have you got the 2012 beta? Because it could still be in beta at the moment. Could you link us to it? |
