Is this really worth 60$ on steam? when high profile titles are selling for 10$ less and at a 10% pre-purchase discount, along with add-on DLC items. Some even come with 30$ games for free(RFA).
new vegas is 50$
RFA 50$,
P2 50$,
Hunted 50$,
DxHR 50$
Duke 50$

It's funny you mention that since there isn't an Australian price for Rage up yet. I'd personally pay the $60 and consider it a good deal. But I'm a big id fan and usually find each of their releases a revelation.

And just for OT kicks, here's what we pay for some of those new games;

New Vegas - $89
Hunted - $89
Brink - $89
Duke - $79
Witcher 2 - $75

89 Australian dollars = 94.8206 US dollars

Oh god that's harsh. You should get a US person to gift you games for cheaper.

Fable III tons of game for 50$ as well. I mention this cuz most everything that is new on steam is 50$ there are only a few like the CODs and BFs and Bulletstorm that are 60$ on release. I really dont think its worth 60$ on a DDC. Maybe for PS3 or Xbox. but theres no packaging. distro is reduced to very little. and pub fees cant be that much cuz well as I highlighted there are a few titles there that are great quality and from bethesda for 50$. because of the low costs available under a DDC take two has been giving games with their pre-purchases for some time now. Does ID really warrant 60$ game at this stage of their life? They havent done anything since Doom3 which got mixed reviews, but has gotten better over the years. their big thing is this engine and RAGE is the landmark pilot IP for it, but wouldnt they profit more from the standard 50$ + 10% pre-purchase deal as everyone else has??? I know RAGE is at the top of my wishlist but it might just stay there for awhile. Its not a Day one buy for me.

I preordered it of D2D for $45.86 USD. Been waiting for it since it was announced in 2007, and I knew I wasn't going to drop $60 on it...

I dont think there will be any deals for a new IP. plus Bethesda doesnt do prepurchase incentives. or deals; other than the wardrobe items.

Its just the base price is pretty high for a new game on a DDC.

Ditto, the "Well Gameplay" video for E3 was what sold me on a pre-order!

Unlike a lot of developers that flat out lie about their games with ID you pretty much know what you are buying. They also happen to be rock solid games without a lot of bugs, stuttering, and other problems some of the games you've listed have. If you really like their games then you know it will have a lot of replay value. If you just want a cheap thrill where you play the game a few times and throw it away don't buy it.

I think i'd like...oh, i don't know, maybe to see a game's page in Steam store? This game appears to be blocked in Russia. Yet another one. I'd curse a lot and i would say what i think about publisher's moms in our country, but it will be replaced by pink hearts, so i won't even bother...
