Process Left Running

When I exit Sim City 4, the window closes, but the game leaves a process running in the background. It eats up a significant amount of my RAM and CPU. I have to kill it manually with the Task Manager. Anyone else seeing this problem?

It's happened to me a few times. (Win7x64)

Mildly annoying, but not a big problem.

Seeing this on Windows7 32bit - it prevents the game from re-launching and also prevents steam from closing properly, both annoyances. I'd not be too bothered myself (although I'd still want to fix it), but its on my wife's PC and she isn't so good with "techy" stuff like task manager
