Unhappy Missing particles and folder

I've been missing particles for some time now and have finally decided to find them. (I make maps for L4D2)I open my game in tools mode but the particles are missing and there are no particles in my particle folder. Some quick research on google told me I needed to extract the files from a folder called "Pak01_dir.vfk" I serched my computer and it wasn't there so I tried to download the folder from the internet but it said that it wasn't a "valid addon" so if anyone has a working link or an answer for me it would be very nice.

In order to access the files stored in the .vpk, you need to use a program like GCFScape. Using that, you can open the .vpk file and copy the particles into your steam directory. After you restart Hammer, they should now appear.
