Gifting the pre-order

Anyone owning 2011 tried gifting 2012 to someone? it looks like it charges the upgrade price and not the full one.... but I'm not 100% willing to go all the way through.

Hey!!! I want to know that too!!! I have Cities XL 2011 installed on my brother's Steam account (he doesn't play it), and I want to have Cities XL 2012 in my own account (I created one after he had bought the game). I think this could be the only possible way to do it. If nothing is known by tomorrow I'll buy it and post what happened here.
