Sadly yet another game that don't work with Bulldozer..

As the title says, this is sadly yet another game in a growing list ..that don't work with a Bulldozer CPU...

I get an INSTANT lock up,then blue screen of death, THEN a computer restart as soon as I try to play this game..

The other two games that wont work are Deus EX:HR and Shogun:TW ..

Error message I get every time I try to start one of those games::

Should've got an Intel. Having the latest and greatest doesn't help when you can't even play the game...

That could be true, except Bulldozer is far, far from the greatest

Yeah apparently even having ATI stuff doesn't help either.

I learned 18 years ago that compatability is more important than performance.
Never be an early adopter....

AMD/ATI has always had problems... all the way back to when my ole' AMD-K5 was giving me grief.

Nvidia + Intel ever since and always happy. ^______^

Totally agree.

When was AMD last on top of the performance charts? Uh, Athlon 64! lolol.

I remember when they brought out the 6 core CPU. It couldn't beat Intel's quads. Same goes for their 8 core bulldozer. It just fails against the sandybridge quad.

Intel and nVidia - The way it's meant to be played.

EDIT: I eagerly await ivybridge. We shall see true performance.

So it sounds to me....

So it sounds to me like the message is "Don't buy a Bulldozer."

Sorry, buddy.

Sorry, buddy.
Actually the message is that devs need to start coding properly to use the Bulldozer CPU and also AMD needs add the Bios update like they said there were gonna do..

I haven't had any problems with AMD hardware ...nothing really serious that prevented me from doing anything ..

THIS Bulldozer problem needs to be fixed by the devs and by AMD...

So far its just 3 games that crash like this ...the rest seem to run fine, I have over 200 games ...I been testing them..

The extreme multi-tasking capability of the CPU was what I was going for anyway, earlier today I was encoding 3 videos in HD 1080P, WHILE playing BFBC2 without the computer glitching ..that is way more than my 1090T could do..

QFT. Deus ex always BSOD on my FX8150. Its a new architecture, this means there will be incompatibilities and issues that need to get ironed out.

From what I have googled, there's sites that blame steam, others that blame the chip. It's a mixture of both a new architecture and the way timings are resolved on the proc.

Look, I'm glad you started this topic; I found it informative. I sincerely hope you wind up getting all your games running.

But the message I take away from it is, don't buy a Bulldozer. I don't need the grief.

The problem here my friend is not the game or developers, it's AMD who didnt send out instructions on how to code for their new CPU. And AMD have a strange way of handling "manycore", they dont have a QPI like Intel do. AMD is so far behind in the world of gaming that I cant see how they are going to catch up to Intel. Intel have monopoly in the performance segment since they came out with the new structure with Core i7, they can set any price they want, at the moment Intel is cheaper when you count performance vs money.

oh man I'd like that. The problem is, whenever I am ready to buy a new computer, neither the data nor the people in the stores give the info that *THAT* is possible with that system.

It was so easy: 386 < 468 < 568 .. + MHz inside the family.

Now you just have no idea if a system is better than the other, at least, if you do not want to spend weeks on research.

Ok, might be something particular to your system, no?
Anyways, I just bought the game and it will take some time before I play it (download etc)

You may want to come back and check if it worked for me, I'll report here with full system specs. (fx-8150 here)

Pax,
Alex.
