Recently, I have bought SC2, but as I went to download the game, I received and error when reaching the creating local game cache files : An error occurred while installing Supreme commander 2 (Connection timeout)
Although, I can access other games as I have recently downloaded the Ship (all 3 parts with no errors) and the orange box (without any errors), this is the only game I am getting errors with. Things I have tried so far: -Re-installing steam. -Changing download regions. -Rebooting pc & steam. -Using steam to try download on another PC. All of these have failed and I still cannot download my new game :V Last edited by Coffeee_Table: 12-31-2011 at 04:25 PM. |

I had the same problem up until today. I contacted Valve directly about the problem and it seems to have been sorted out. It took me asking for the problem to be sorted out and sending a screenshot to the Steam support staff.
I suggest trying again today. If the problem has not been sorted out for you too then I suggest contacting Valve yourself. Here is the link to reach Steam support: https://support.steampowered.com/newticket.php |

A fix that worked for me was to change my download region from US to UK-London in the "Downloads+Cloud" section of the settings. After I restarted steam with the setting changed, I could start downloading.
