Snow Brawl event ended a week earlier?!

So I was playing Snow Brawl but the event just disappeared from the selection screen so it looks like it is finished.

In the newsletter the ending date is Jan 9. There is a week till that, isn't it?

In addition to this the new Snow Brawl special event is now available. In this game, you trade in your guns for a new weapon, a snowball packed tightly around a core of high explosives! The snowball kills an enemy on a direct hit! You can queue up for Snow Brawl matches from the battles menu under the events tab. Play often as the map and mode will change each day of the event until it ends on January 9th!

So I don't understand, or just my game got bugged?

Also the event is (was?) great, will this be available next year too? Thanks.
