You picked a good one to start with. You should also look at Grand Prix Legends with all the updates, GTR Series. They are all great racing games.

F1 2011 is not a bad place to start, as has been said...but I would stress that it is a starting point; as far as racing games go, it is arcade not sim' and as such, is all right for a bit of fun racing only.One of the best all round racing sim's is Race07; you have just about got all you will ever need in one nice package, loads of add on's and mod's if you want them too.

TYVM may try that out aswell .. Graphics wise is Race07 descent graphics aswell ?

Like you say Merlin, there are lot's of games out there. Another one worth a mention is LFS. very challenging and a steep learning curve (for me at any rate)the only drawback for me is in single player mode...the ai's have a nasty habit of wiping you out from behind; it's mirrors, mirrors and more mirrors if you want any chance of finishing a race; like I say though, it's a real challenge. I'm 72 now and still pounding away at PC racing...I suppose you love it or hate it; my brother who is 79 thinks I am crazy...but he would, he keeps bees lol.

Wow, 72 and still racing. I hope that's me in 30 years. There's nothing that beats the rush of racing. And the games are getting better and prettier and better physics.

Just keep racing I say...I get to do all the driving, but don't have to do the training!!! My eyes get a bit blurry after a long session; maybe 4 or 5 hours is my limit nowday's... but I am still at it sometimes at 3 or 4am. Got a nice Omega racing rig, coupled with a G27 wheel and a 32 inch LED TV for a monitor...ahhh, bliss!.
Got a nice gaming machine that, I built myself and overclocked to water cooled high heaven.One of the benefits of getting old, is that you can spend the money you have stashed away whilst working; as they say; you can't take it with you when you park your clogs.

I'm 42 next month. Been racing since 1994 with the original World Circuit (Grand Prix 1). I love my racing games and love where they have come from since 1994.
