Hello,
I'm tired of playing a good game of DoD, in a good server, but being very annoyed with the constant custom sounds: "Multi-Kill" "Headshot" "Unstoppable!" For Day of defeat source, counter-strike source, and half-life, I read of adjusting the config.cfg file with Notepad. And then, adding these 2 commands: Code:
cl_downloadfilter "nosounds" cl_showpluginmessages "0" However, whenever I load the game and check the value of those commands, nothing happens. Sounds will auto-download, and I'm stuck where I started. Is there a way to stop the auto-downloads and auto-playing of custom sounds in Day of Defeat? Any console commands? modifications I can add to my config.cfg? Thanks! Note: I've tried some techniques outlined above, but I think they'll only work with the Source version of DoD |

Rather than deleting the files, replace them with a blank or silent audio file.

I recently reinstalled dod and was shocked at the amout of sounds/models that admins add to dod, It wouldnt be so bad if I could blacklist them
![]() The free version of Goldwave will batch mute a folder of mp3s, and you can bind stopsound to a key. |
