Can you customize the controls?
if you can customize, do they allow all keys to mapped? (like Ins, Del, the numpad keys, Ctrl, Shift, Alt, etc) Is the online play smooth? Is there a decent amount of players online? Any resolution options? Local play or LAN support? Ability to spectate online matches? Thanks

Yes, you can customize controls with all those keys. Except for NumLock, I assume. And Home is reserved for GFWL.
I played with someone with 250 ping and it went fine. But just MK1, haven't tried the others online yet. And that guy was the only one on, so not very active yet. Everyone's probably busy learning all the moves before they go online though. No resolution options. All you get is "stretch". Which is not surprising, since these are really old games. MK1 came out 20 years ago. Just checked, no LAN support and no option for spectating. Last edited by ncrikku: 02-02-2012 at 09:51 PM. |

So apparently you are FORCED to use the arrow keys to move instead of at least being able to remap it to WASD. This is pretty infuriating and awkward to play. My ideal setup is WASD for movement, shift for run, space to block and Ins Home Del and End for attacks. But I CAN'T use that setup because of some stupid pointless restriction. Having to attack with my left hand does not feel right at all. I've been searching through the game files for a config that allows me to remap the keys but it's nowhere to be found. Very disappointed. I would really like to know why they implemented this restriction as it has completely ruined the game for me.

They would have to add mouse support, first, before they can add customizable movement keys. Here's MK's twitter page, try to convince them. |
