Widescreen?

Hey, all!

I can run the game with at the max rez with almost all settings on Very High, yet I see no option for widescreen. Is this possible through third party tinkering?

What the hell are you talking about? Both Crysis and Crysis 2 support widescreen from the get-go.

What the hell I am talking about is that the game offers a wide range of resolution settings (mine is set to the maximum, 1600 x 1200) yet none of the settings specify whether they are 16:9, 16:10 or 4:33.

Crysis offers four widescreen resolution settings:

16:9 - 1366 x 768
16:10 - 1440 x 900

I tried both of these and indeed the game display got wider, but did not fill the screen completely. About an inch of black appeared on either side of the display. I have a Samsung SyncMaster SA550 which has a 16:9 display, so at the very least the 1366 x 768 setting should have filled the screen.

16:10 - 1680 x 1050
16:10 - 1920 x 1200

These settings were also listed on the Crysis wiki, but did not appear in the resolution settings menu in the game. I am running 1920 x 1080 native resolution, so I should be able to at least try these settings.

Move the scrollbar at the resolution list (the box at the right is the scrollbar), just click and hold on it and drag it to the bottom - you'll see more resolutions.

What resolution are you looking for?

If you don't see your resolution in the options, then change it through the command line. Right-click on the game in your Steam Library, click Properties, click "Set Launch Options...," and enter "+r_width 1920 +r_height 1080" without the quotations.

There IS a scrollbar. It's just not obvious it's there. Before I saw it, the max was 1680x1050. Not I run in 1920x1080
