Social club crashes now

Since the patch, after the intro titles, it crashes Social Club, produces a Runtime error 216 at 005558--something.

I've tried to verify the game cache twice, it always is missing one 5KB file. Then it does a first time installation, and crashes social club again.

I've tried to run the setup for the social club but it didn't help.

Same problem, have to close game, restart, let it crash again, say OK when it says patch did not complete. Then it works. This patch is screwed up.

I fixed it another way. I went into my Social Club files in the Steam folder, and found the updater to patch to 1.06.xx

That worked for me, thanks. Is anyone else having problems getting the Steam Overlay to work when LA Noire is put into DX 11?

Im having exactly the same problem. Where can I find these Social Club files and which one exactly is the update?

EDIT: Nevermind. I actually found it in Rockstar Games folder.

For me, Norton found a "social club" file that it didn't like, so I couldn't get it to run either. Thankfully after quitting the game it gave me the option to restore the file and exclude it from deletion. If you have AVG or some other antivirus, it may have deleted the file.
