This game seems ot be broken

At the party right at the start, I found out the guy wanted me to get him a drink, so I went to the bartender and asked for a drink, and the conversation option to ask him for a drink disappeared, but I don't seem to actually be carrying a drink at all, and whenever I talk to the guy who wants the drink again he just repeats the request.

If I talk to the bartender again I automatically decline the offer of a drink, so I can't see any way to get past this. Anyone have any suggestions? Am I missing something?
