Why hack time trials? Seriously....

Guess I just don't have the capacity to understand why someone would bother, 7 seconds on prologue, like that doesn't scream "idiot".

I noticed that a while back when I first got the Time Trials pack.
It kinda made me not actually want to play them at first.

yep, it is pretty annoying. I just wanted to see how best player's ghosts pass the map... I chose player who is 100 in the list and his ghost was just flying through all checkpoints like there is no gravity... I wonder why developers didnt fix that...

They ought to just purge all of the leaderboards, but they won't.

What good would that do? they would cheat/hack again.
I dont know why some people just have to cheat, but they do, and catching them costs money and effort that no company wants to spend.

Why hack any game?

It's a metagame to a certain class of people.

The worst thing for me is that their hacked times don't even have to be 'obvious'. Think about it, when you see a time that is 10, 5 or even 4 seconds faster than the current top 5, you instantly know its a hack, and just disregard it. But those same hackers can easily just use their trainers or codes or whatever just enough so that they clinch the required 0.01 seconds to claim the top spot.

That for me makes it 100 times worse, since I have no idea if someone has actually beaten me fairly. So for me, online time competing in any game is now completey pointless due to this very fact. The last time I took part in competing for times was many years ago in Trackmania. Once I realised all this, I've never bothered with it in any game since. There is just literally no point when you think about it, because they could even be hacking 7th place or 20th place etc.

Upsetting, really.
