Alice fails at launch with awc.dll there was a problem with your setup please .....
....Reinstall your game.
This occurred the first time I tried to run the game. I verified the Steam file integrity (no errors), uninstalled the game, verified folders were deleted, restarted my computer, and redownloaded it. Same error afterwards. Thoughts? |

Resurrecting this thread because I'm having the exact same problem. I'm still in the middle of searching for a solution as tonight was the very first time I was going to play the game. I verified the game files first, then uninstalled/reinstalled with no change. Running Windows 7 64-Bit with a 3 GHz AMD Athlon II X-3 440 and Radeon HD 7850.
EDIT: I think I found the problem; I have to both disable Comodo Firewall on my computer AND run the AliceMadnessReturns.exe file under Windows XP SP 3 compatibility mode to get the game to launch. But does anyone know a solution for having to have an EA account to play the game?? Last edited by fuller556: 11-29-2012 at 02:30 AM. |

You have to register with ea if you have origin installed the game also appears in there and can be downloaded through origin.
