Steam forums, where people respect each other!

I usually don't use forums because they are mostly flooded by trolls and flame wars.
Now using steam forums for a while I must say that people here actually help and show respect to each other.

So to all mods, admins and users: Continue to keep this place clean and polite.

Cheers!

Probably won't be saying the same thing if you go on a game's forum and ask a question about your controller, comaptibility problems or ask about something which they believe is 'common knowledge'. Then you get pages of abuse for not being fanatical or elitist. Or, in other words, for not being just like them.

Some of the game sections are nice enough. I've been reading through the Medieval 2 section lately and everyone is quite pleasant. Although that place is close to dead. Nonetheless, those who remain are nice

I'm with the OP on this one. This is a solid forum.

The mods here do a great job of keeping the spammed ads at bay. Some other forums are covered in them things to the point that they become useless.

It is a team effort which includes all the forum members here who take the time to report posts/threads as well as help others here with their issue or provide information. It makes it a lot easier to keep ontop of things.

Then there is always Bluz74 for laughs.

I think the effort pays off. I rarely see any here, I guess the fact that they are taken down so quickly makes it pointless going to all the hassle of putting them on here in the first place.

Also, I always report them. I'd hate SPUF to fall to the nasty disease of spammed ads like so many other forums have.

For the most part they are. With Admins / Mods from around the globe there is really 24/7 coverage on the forums. Still at times it may take a few hours to get to a reported post/thread . At times I have seen reported posts coming in by the minute.

And again it is due to the efforts of all the forum members here.

Every sub-forum isn't perfect, but there are plenty that are civil and helpful.

I've been here since 2007, but I didn't see a negative presence on these forums until I went to the Supreme Commander 2 forum. I ad plenty of games before that one and all those other forums were pleasant.

This whole site is an ad for Steam! Yes people are generally nice I can be an sometimes but and I got warnings but it's all fun.. These boards are well populated with people so it's really great to get answers from others fast.

It is well moderated I'll agree. But its still full of trolls and flame baiters.

Try having a polite discussion about ponies and you'll see how welcome and clean the forum really is.

I post on a political forum sometimes and discussions there often result in different political subgroups trolling each other on a high level in very subtle ways, which is quite entertaining. Drama can be fun sometimes.

Ultimately I don't understand website having an off-topic debate or political forum. It only negatively affects a website.
