Problem with Riddle man at Prancing Pony not giving me money? War in the North.

I completed every single one of Tedder Hedgerow's Riddles correctly, and I have 45 Silver on me at start of the game, but I still do not make any money from this guy even after beating every riddle.

Why am I not making any Silver from this guy? I have tried betting 20 silver, even 5 silver and yet I still don't make a single silver piece. Is there something I need to do 1st to unlock being able to make money or something, or some kind of minimum amount i need on me before going to him?

Please help as I should have atleast 150 silver, but still only 45. Thanks

I think I worked it out, it wasn't that I didn't get paid as I now have over 1000 Silver. I don't know why, but when I go to a shop, it shows me my total money, but when I look into my inventory etc, it doesn't always show the correct amount, is there a way to always see how much I have, or is this some glitch?
