Kane and Lynch Dog Days Title Screen Crash

The game crashes everytime I get to the main menu. I have yet to succesfully play the game because of the crashes. It's starting to get very fustrating. I have tried all the fixes that have been suggested on the forums and none of them seem to work. If anyone has any suggestions, please help me.

Did you try verifying the game cache?

I have exactly the same issue, i get to the main menu but after about 3 seconds i get CTD

This is the exact problem that I am having. I've verified the game cache multiple times so it isn't problem.

There was another thread talking about a fix that worked. There was a link to a rapidshare file that doesn't exist anymore. It was apparently a fix for the demo that worked on the real game too.

Look at number 5. Copy those two dll files and paste them into your kane and lynch 2 folder in steamapps. Just read what it says on the site, tells you what to do. This fix worked for me.

I copied the 2 openAL files from my system32 folder into the game folder (and set the exe to run in XP compatibility mode) and it worked for a while, but crashed again after restarting it. What a pain in the ♥♥♥, it used to run fine before.

edit: well it's running ok now, not sure what did it, tried running the openAL installer from within the game folder, and ran it with default video settings then changed them in game to what I want (vsync, triple buffering, etc) and so far so good, Steam is online, I got the Chinese Waltz achiev too. Now we just need some MP games going.

You likely Can't play coop in offline mode, and can you still get achiev's offline?

2nd edit: after a few days, it won't run again. Uninstalled.
