How far am I?
I'm currently in the Castle, and I'm attempting to beat the Boss in the East Wing. It is proving to be quite difficult so far, as I can only do damage to him once in a blue moon with my sword.
In any case, I have the Cape, I have the Banded Sword, and I just found the Battle Armour. I've been teleporting around breaking all the walls where I didn't have the Yellow bracelet before. How the hell do I kill the Skeleton warriors? |

You cant kill them till a bit later in the game when you will find an item for that.
You're pretty far along now though, not a great deal left. Looking at the equip screen is a pretty good guide for progression really :v You'll have one more weapon/armour set to get in the final dungeon. |

Sounds good, I'm just curious as to why there is an achievement for killing 50 of them without The Silver Chimes. I tried to kill one, took FOREVER.

They're pretty tough when you run into those ones in the hidden areas, First time I ran into them one hit me for half my hp in one go.
But by the time you can collect the silver chimes you should be having an easier time of it, I forgot the achievement though, and ran past them all instead, only "killed" 20 when I got the chimes. Something to remember for a future play through. |

After you get the chimes, just don't equip them and you can still get the achievement. That's what I did.
As for your progress:

Yeah, I just read that. Now I feel quite stupid to have not noticed in play :\
Oh well, beat him and the wolf-thing and found the fire-sword thing. Quite a nice boost in damage capability. |

Look for the hammer, then take it to the smith in town and bring 1000 Raval with ya.

Hello again, some further questions:
I've got the brave sword, raval armor, raval shield, and am currently level 53. The last boss of the game is just stupid difficult. Do I really just have to shoot him with the fire bracelet and do little damage each time? Pathetic boss design. Tedium is not difficulty. |

Have you tried aiming fireballs into the jewel on its head? You'll need to get higher than your double-jump for that though.

First form: Step 1: Wait when he shoots ice Step 2: Jump on top of the ice platform Step 3: Fireball the jewel on his head Step 4: Fireball the eye that appeared Note: You have to be precise when shooting the fireball to the jewel, which is why you should charge the fireball. Second form: Step 1: Hit his hands Step 2: Wait until the boss falls back Step 3: Hit the eye when the boss charges to the platform and casts ice Note: The yellow bracelet helps with the ice on the floor Third form: Step 1: Hit the ball and play "pong" with it Note: This is the easiest form of them all, just be extra careful not to let the "legs" crab you! It was one of my favorite boss fights. There is nothing wrong with the boss design. In terms of difficulty it's not that hard, you just have to be precise during the first form. PS: You should buy the necklace from the shop for this fight (it's not necessary, but it definitely should help since it resurrects you) Last edited by Tulipopa: 04-11-2012 at 11:28 AM. |

I think part of the frustration comes from the fact that my DPAD sticks on my Saturn controller, making precision aiming tough.
I'll revisit it later tonight, I've used my patience for it for the time being. I have the Spirit Necklace, I've actually sold out the shop because I've purchased both of them. This fight is rage-worthy. It deals 124 damage each time I hit, regardless of charged shot or not. The hit right before the boss curls back up and you have to use the platforms only counts as 1 damage, not 124 like the prior hits do, though he's not yet curled up and protected. You can get stuck on the BOTTOM of the ice platforms as well, that was fun. Last edited by Saijin_Naib: 04-11-2012 at 01:00 PM. |

That part of the fight shouldn't last very long, honestly. Once you get him down to... 2000 HP, I think it is?... he switches to his second form. And you should be able to get him down that far with only three or four rounds of riding the ice platform and fireballing him repeatedly.
You might want to check some YouTube videos, as it's possible you might be missing some strategy somewhere... -Tom |

For his firt form, you can double jump and shoot a big fireball right into him, but it requires lots of practice, and perfect timing.
The last part was the worst for me, when i was getting the no damage achievement. |

Yeap, charged shots are useless. Its much faster to simply spam the smaller shots as they do the same 124 damage per hit as a fully charged shot.
This is what I mean by terrible boss battle design. |
