One of them is Mahjong... If you buy them all, you get like 80% off.
If you want 2-3 of them, you should get the whole pack for nearly the same price. Luxor is one of the coolest and slicket puzzle games besides Peggle and Puzzle Bobble. |

What tibnew said. I see that one is MahJongg so I'm not interested in that one. Among the others, I have played the first couple and enjoyed them (pre-Steam days) but have not played this type of game for several years. Considering the newer titles, is there enough difference that somebody should buy one of them over any of the others?

I only want 2 of these, which is like 70% of the price of the whole collection of 8.
I think i only get Luxor Evolved...and skip the rest. Sometime later i might get Luxor Afterlife and Mahjong at 75% off anyway. freibooter Only Evolved and Afterlife supports Widescreen. If all of them supported Widescreen, i would have gotten the whole pack. Popcap games is not better as most of the best games is only ~4:3. Last edited by TheVentilator: 03-27-2012 at 01:13 PM. |

The unfair Euro pricing is off-putting to me, I'll probably not get them on that basis alone.
I would have liked to pick up one of the newer Luxors, maybe with proper resolution and wide screen support. How "evolved" is Luxor Evolved from a technical point of view? I may give the demo a try, but visually the trailer didn't impress me. The same aesthetic has not only been overdone by a lot of the more recent indie games, but also has usually been done better as well. |

I liked Luxor 3. It doesn't support widescreen, IIRC.

Does Anyone Know?
If you buy the Luxor Collection (that's on sale) as a gift, does it show up as 1 individual item in your Gifts, or as 8 separate items that can be gifted?

Personally I prefer Zuma much more than Luxor. But Luxor is okay for a change, I guess. This is an easy deal for me to pass on, though... bubble poppers are fun when they're done right, but there's no reason to get them all, since they all start to seem the same after awhile.

I didn't bother with the vector one because it just looks cramped and unpleasant, but there are demos of the others at the MumboJumbo or BigFish sites.
It may interest some of you to know that Quest for the Afterlife, which is Luxor 4, supports 1280x720 as well as 1280x768, while 5th Passage for some reason does not. In fact there seem to be no resolution options in that game at all. The Mahjong game is similar though I've uninstalled it and can't specify: No widescreen resolutions. Since they aren't in chronological order on the bundle page but sort of look like they are, I'll add that Amun Rising is an expansion for the first Luxor. Don't get it confused as the 4th game. Quest for the Afterlife is pretty good all around, by the way. I'd pass on the others unless you've got a 4:3 monitor. - - - Edit: Well I tried the Luxor Evolved demo. It runs in widescreen, 720 something or other. It's cramped like I expected, but not exactly unpleasant. The game has a slickness and speed which are pretty refreshing, and it's difficult right from the start. Last edited by elixenie: 03-28-2012 at 06:52 AM. |
