resolution in CS

Hey guys, ive just been wondering why everyone plays 1.6 in 640x480 or 800x600 rather than higher resolutions. I've noticed that the crosshair is smaller in lower resolutions.

i guess cuz all the pros do it lol, theres no real difference tho. just use what ever you prefer

back then pre 2003-04 most ppl used lower resolution because there machines werent capable of running the game at 100fps stable, and well they were use to those res

but now days its just irrelevant since most machine's can run the game flawlessly. i play at 1080p

I'd say it's because that's what they started with, so they feel more comfortable with it.

Anyways, why I use 640 instead of 1280 is that the windows.
The loading screen and server list and all just seem out of place, everything just looks horribly wrong.
Besides that, there isn't much of a change besides slightly better graphics.

640x480 best for me. Easy for fastzoom (pixel is greater).

I think that spraying is however easier with res that are 800x600 and lower.

why 640? simple, spray control is much much easier and recoil isn't as shaky as higher resolutions.

it's just a sort of a glitch for an old game, so valve said fir csgo they will work on no low resolution advantage. and i think they have done a great job

people play lower resolution because they're computer cant handle greater resolutions. anything higher lowers fps. and lag you more in smoke.
