Rockstar, change the Australian price now for your own sake, jesus

Because games on steam in Australia aren't selling at that price. I know your games have always sold at that markup over here for years and years, but PC gamers are a different breed now. They're wise to what other people pay.

They will not buy your game on launch here in Australia at that price. They absolutely will not.

ESPECIALLY when it's coming from a primarily console developed environment this time, a focus that appears to be less noir like the series was originally, and the scary thought that Max Payne will be an afterthought cashgrab console port. Doesn't matter if that's not the case. Your not vocal enough in the PC community, PC gamers don't know the full story about the game and will take it at face value.

These aussie gamers won't buy it at that price, the game will disappear from the top sellers after some months, these people will wait for a price drop, and they'll eventually forget about the game amidst the Diablo 3 zerg rush thats about to happen.

Seriously, do not do this. Set a standard for all the other big boys, sell your game at 69 bucks Australian, and watch it sell like hotcakes to a heap of people who are used to getting ripped off.

Hell, even 79 would make it sell buckets more.

Seriously, it's madness.

I live in New Zealand I'm happy to pay $90 USD for it (although that might change after I play it) but that is about the same as retail or slight higher but I also get Max Payne 1 and 2 plus MP DLC for free.

Admittedly I've only bought 2 games so far this year (ME3 and Max Payne 3) and probably won't be buying many compared to previous years (BF3 DLC and Borderlands 2; not sure about anything else).

Is there some exchange rate thing in AUS and NZ that makes US dollar worth less? I would never pay $90 for a new game. Ever. $60 is pushing it for me.

But I agree with you, $90 is way too expensive. Mightyape has it for $80 though.

Max Payne 3 is one of the few games that will be getting $60 from me without complaint just like Skyrim did. Most new releases aren't worth it once I see what's inside but these two have given me enough previews and information that I'm convinced a pre-order will not disappoint.

I need a LOT of good reasons to buy full-price, and Rockstar and Bethesda are the only developers proving themselves time after time.

i consider the max payne series (1 and 2) to be some of the best games in existence, but i won't be preordering this one. i will wait for a sale unless it proves to be well made after launch. the multiplayer dlc's for free is definitely not incentive enough for me to blow 60 dollars.
