Two days ago, suddenly, I got black vertical and horizontal stripes on my screen. PC is new, just bought it, but I dont know if its GPU problem or monitor. Google is useless. Today the stripes got away slowly. Is it just an isolated incident, or it'll get worse? Thanks.
OS is Win 7 32 bit GPU is GTX 550 Ti Monitor is LCD, some crappy brandname, also monitor is bout 5yrs old. |

Probably monitor. Sounds like the dell LCDs we have at work. Sometimes generate these grey or black lines, they give out around 7 years of use.

Take a screenshot. The screenshot will look good if it's the monitor, & bad if it's the gpu.

Not necessarily. The screenshot is a software rendering of what is SUPPOSED to be on the screen, but it's pre-processed without the use of the video card's output. So if the problem is the DVI/VGA connection. The screenshot might not actually show the issue, even though it is the card's fault.
