How do I pause the game?

Hey, I'm playing The Secret of Monkey Island and I need to slow down the subtitles. How can I slow them down or pause the game? Thanks.

You step away from the computer.

Or you could press "escape" to get to the menu. But really, it's a traditional "point'n'click" adventure game. As long as you're not pointing and clicking, nothing's likely to happen. Granted, I haven't finished it yet, but so far, I've only come across one time-based puzzle. And if you really need to do something in the middle of that one, it isn't be that hard to start it over.
