What happened to a serious rally game
I am sure I read something about CM making an arcadey dirt game and also a more serious one too...
Is this still happening because I am a big rally fan but I hate the way the dirt games force you to switch to all kinds of different styles of racing when all I want is to do a WRC championship. |

Dirt was never a hardcore rally sim, and it will never be.

DiRT 4 will be the serious one, but don't expect it to be much different than DiRT 2 and 3.

Dirt 1 is good, Dirt2 less so and D3, I don't even want to go there.
Jack of all trades, master of none. Too many games try to please too wide a demographic and just end up mediocre as they are neither one thing or the other.

The racing demographic is small enough. They need to please everyone so that their company can actually stay afloat. |

Hmmm. Perhaps we 'older demographic' that dislikes this modern 'clown-faced kiddy-crashing quick cashing mud splashing paint bashing money re-hashing cerebral dashing monkey lashing' trend towards motorsport should stop supporting it and only then, maybe we could perhaps make a difference. If not then at least we have made a statement.
I'm writing this tragic company off my list as anything worth supporting now and hoping that there is a company out there with the will and the might and the balls to finance a project which tips this commercial dinosaur into the water. I have follwed this genre for years now and still see signs of total disillusionment amongst members/players and fear for the future of 'proper' motorsport being F1, Touring Cars, Pure Rally. Too many silly boys wanting crashes and spills because you know what? They have known no different. That's the tragedy here. Last edited by MrPegiShixteen: 04-22-2012 at 03:09 PM. |
