Dangling GameOverlayUI.exe prevents shutting down
Not sure if it's game-specific or a general problem that may occur from time to time, but more or less randomly does the GameOverlayUI.exe sometimes stay active after shutting a game down. At the end of the day can even three of these processes remain, depending on how many games you play.
Trying to shut Steam down while they are still running usually causes a warning about still open programs, then closes Steam but immediately tries to login again, usually resulting in a freeze. The only safe way to prevent this is to manually shut down the process in the Task Manager. Anyone else ever had this problem? |

maybe you guys at Valve could use Steam Workshop to distribute user-made patches. |

I get this rarely, but I have had it before.
A game has closed (or crashed) and the steamoverlay has remained as a running process. Some extra checks to prevent this wouldn't go amiss. |

I've had this happen on one of my computers after a game crash. Only fix I could figure out was to kill it with task manager. For me, it's only happened when games crash on a single computer, the others are fine...
