I'm not b*tch*ng: I like very much the concept of this game, but I have one consideration.
We're on Steam, the best games platform in the history of the Internet: this is the place where a big magic cloud allows us to play the same game from 15 different PCs and Macs without losing one single bit of saved game; this is the place where we can have retail games without buying retail games. And do I have to pay for... a flash game? This sounds very weird to me. I love Steam, but I'm not here to play flash games. I like to be able to delete all of my cookies/internet history whenever I want without accidentally my whole game savings; and I'd like to be able to do that without editing Flash or System configurations and options. I'm telling you again: 1000 Amps is a very good game, but the Flash environment is a huge letdown. Just my two cents. |

Flash is just another compiler of code like for C++ or C or Visual Basic, or Fortran, or Basic, or Pascal. It's just a program that anyone can use to create things with.
One of the reasons that it's often used for free games is because it's very simple and linked simultaneously to a graphics creator as well. The amount of hours spent on creating Lume, Machinerium, Samorost 2, and 1000 Amps are more than you'd probably like to think and they are a work of art. It shouldn't matter how a game is made, whether it's the Adventure Gaming System, the RPGMaker, or Flash, it's all about whether or not the game is worth it graphically, gameplay wise and originality and creativity. |

Serie, I agree, but Andre brings up some really great points.
Steam Cloud support, steam achievements, and steam overlay. More often than not, sorely lacking from Flash-built games on steam. This is a huge detractor from the game's appeal in my opinion, and is the only thing stopping me from buying this game. |

Amused jarateed
The tru is that when 1000 amps ran the first time I couln't close my jaw for like 10-15 minutes i was like :"What the hell maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaann, duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuddddddddddeeeeeeeee, a FLASH game?, sheeeeeeeeesh, a FLAaaaaaasssssssh game on steam?".
So after being jarateed for like 30 minutes more i started to consider the facts about the lack of fully Steam support, I am refering to steam cloud, achievements, game save across PC, and also the lack of support as a PC game, I mean, you can't configure the screen resolution... So yeah. i'm really, really dissapointed, and jarateed about this game. Yet it is really cool, and i have had a lot of fun, but when seeing it on my library i always sight about the amount of money I spent in a FLASH 10 game. |

Oh, shall we also ignore The Binding of Isaac, made in Flash, and popular enough on Steam to get a huge DLC update? It used a hackish work-around to get achievements working. |

yeah kinda sucks, I would like to change resolution to widescreen full hd...
Also do I have to fear a loss of my savegame when I clear Internet Data with Chrome? |

I tried to follow some instruction on how to hack my cookies cleaner and stuff, but nothing worked. Then I solved the problem: I stopped playing the game. |

Genre: Adventure, Indie, Platformer
Release Date: 22 Feb 2012 Price : 5 euro. Kind of strange compared to other indie games, but I think is the developer choice to have that price. |

The Flash environment was a let down for me. I sometimes like to turn the sound off in games so I could play my own music but... it's Flash. There is no menu in-game, no presentation polish at all. The game itself is interesting but its a bare bones package overall.

Yeah, you're pretty right... but it's the only "solution" I could find.
If you want, you can think about my "solution" as "waiting for the C++ version to be released". I have 130 games in my library, 1000 Amps is not a priority for sure.

It's not a big problem not allowing modification of resolution and sound volume. It's meant to be a small game and I'm fine with how it is right now. To me, the main points of 1000 Amps is the ingenious level design and the nice transition skills.
The download size of the game first let me think "What? That is it? One dollar one MB?" But the gameplay really proved it a rational price. Seems that the dev is already working on a cpp version as a free update, which will also solve the save data problem. |

I was a bit upset too when I found out this was a flash game but I started playing anyways and now I love this game...
There are some bad flash games on Steam and those are probably the only games in my library that I regret buying, but when a game is done right it's awesome no matter weather it uses Flash DirectX or even command line ASCII art... |
