Probably one good reason to buy outside of steam..
But it will be there eventually..
I got mine someplace else and can say not many are playing the new beta online at the moment..
so don't fret much.. and it does seem more stable btw..

No, this is a rare case where a game that releases on steam is also released on their own home-page and gets a delayed patch while their page gets it first. Steam shouldn't be blamed, devs could have just pushed it on steam at the same time with their website. Doubt this patch fixes any gamebreaking bug. I think steam pushes patches during weekends.

Not as rare as you might think... People are just use to viewing releases on Steam for good reason. Don't get me wrong..I LOVE Steam for convenience.. I got a few hundred games here..lol

They will catch up eventually and its a "no challenge" for the user to have their game updated.. Sometimes..you just have to wait a bit..

If a person wants a patch as soon as it is released.. it's best to get the game from another source and do it yourself is all.. alot of games are steam dependent so that breaks a game if you add a patch outside of Steam. Or you make duplicate folders for outside and in.. I have both in this case (ver: 160 and 161).

Seems like a genere thing.. DCS Series, Arma Series, this.. etc.. Steam can't be beat if you rather not bother though or you get confused with all the install stuff.. patience is all that is needed.

It's not that rare for non-steamworks games and it's pretty logical that they can release it faster themselves as they don't need to wait for Valve's approval. If they wanted the patch to be up on both systems, they would need to delay the non-Steam patch, which wouldn't really be ideal for non-Steam players. I'd say that it is Valve's "fault", but you can't really blame them as it's the limitation of the system.

Had a feeling I should have bought the game from else where. So tired of patches being delayed because of Valve.

If you had bought it elsewhere, you might have to download 10 small patches to get the game update to date a year from now after a re-install or something.

It is to people like me. You've probably never played DCS A-10C, 11 patches, all big ones too, so I finally gave up and just re-download the full game. Steam version will not have this problem.
