Downloading issue

For some reason, Portal 2 stops downloading at 21% and always says update suspended. Why the update? It hasn't been downloaded yet. I have tried some solutions offered to other people but it still has the same problem. Is saying there is a connection timeout. However, I downloaded Portal 1 after trying 2 and it was successful.

The only time I have seen the "download suspended" message is when a screensaver comes on. Do you have a screensaver?

Nope, I don't have screensaver turned on. Thanks though.

Have you tried starting the game? Sometimes that can fix the problem. sm

Yes, it comes up with a box saying it's updating the game. It tries to 'update' for about 2 minutes and comes up with the message "Connection timeout". And the download is still at the same percent as before.

Try changing your download region.

Do you have enough space on your computer? Sometimes Steam will suspend the download if you're low on space.
