closing two thrones brings up windows media center

Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Every time I close Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, Windows Media Center starts up. Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and Prince of Persia don't seem to have this problem.

I've had this problem with Guild Wars. Make sure the shortcut parameters don't have "-mce" tacked on the end. If it does, just delete it.

The load options in Steam does not have "-mce" but it will still start MCE on exit. It's very annoying.

Hi! Fixing this is quite easy. Grab a hex editor and open pop3.exe with it. Go to address 01a8e7 and change these bytes: E8 F4 F7 FF FF to 90 90 90 90 90. This will skip the MCE loading on exit.

I remember seeing that there were files in Two Throne's folder that had MCE Icons. I haven't tried it, but if you copy them out of the folder it might also work.

Make sure you copy them so if it breaks stuff you won't have to redownload.
I don't have the game installed at the moment, so I can't test it.

^If I ever install the game again (I'm sure I will sometime in the future) I'll have to try this. Thanks - if it works that is.

I've done this, but now my gamepad doesn't seem to be recognised. Any idea if the two are connected?

Bumping this thread for the HEX fix.

The HEX edit fix did it for me, thank you. At first, I was weirded out by Windows Media Center starting when I exited the game. Then it just got annoying. Now it's gone thanks to the HEX fix.

Bumping again. This also worked for me just fine, although using ultraedit I had to search for the hex string, not the address.
