Unhappy Kind of a typical, short rant

Just like everyone else who has the game on the Xbox, I want updates, or even a patch.

I'll just list a few things that could be included in even a tiny patch.

1.
Hacking and griefers.
Yes, we have all been in a hacked game (Lowgrav, crits-only, friendflyfire etc.) to fix this, just make the basic stat for sv_cheats 0
Then, griefers (such as myself) easily win the mach by skywalking on Dustbowl 1/3.

2.
Newer maps.
We all want new maps, and me and my friends want nothing else but at least one new map to play.
Think of it like this; All you see on the games page is 2fort, 2fort, 2fort, Dustbowl, 2fort, Dustbowl, Dustbowl, and occasionaly Hydro.
Just adding one or two new maps would satisfy me at the least.
I would love arena or payload, mostly arena.

3.
Update packs.
I read about it being the RAM impossibly fitting all the new face expressions, class-specific responses, and weapon animations, but hey, re-releasing is not a bad idea.
Re-releasing an unfinished game would make all the current owners very unsatisfied, or very satisfied.
Me, and most of my friends would buy it.

The latest patch they did I believe was on April 21st 2008, over a year ago.
As I already said, just making a tiny, itty-bitty teeny update could improve the game very much.
While I'm sure VALVe has much bigger and important stuff to do, like updating the PC version, making L4D2, updating L4D, and making HL2:Episode 3, I'm sure a small patch wouldn't take longer than approximately 2 weeks.

I will still play this game no matter what, since my crappy PC only gives me the Black'n'Purple squares, I have to rely on my Xbox.
I don't know about you guys, but I sure as hell would buy a update pack/re-release any day.

"Hey, Robin, shouldn't we be working on the XBox update?"
"What?"
"You know, that white thing sitting under the TV in the break room?"
"Oh. We make games for that?"
"...Yes."
"Oh. We'll get right on that... go update the blog."
"Sure. What should I say?"
"I don't know, make something up, like, say "We're having hardware issues"
"Okay"

....Two months later

"Hey, Robin, shouldn't we be working on the XBox update?"
"What?"

"I made the blog post you asked about, two months ago.
People are still complaining, should we actually do something about it?"

"Nah, let's MAYBE do it next year or so.
No wait, let's do it two years after we finish all the class updates."

"Don't you think people will be furious? I have gotten ninty mails about the updates just today"

"Who cares, it's not like the updates will be appreciated by anyone else"

Valve knows this and they really want to do something about it as soon as possible, it is just that Micro$oft is being a female dog about it.

Oh really?

I pretty much guess that VALVe has already made the patch cost money, so why not just say "Screw the RAM, let's re-release this motherer" and maybe satisfy the 1000+ people playing it.

Why are there still so many people who think Microsoft is some magical brick wall? How many other developers have the same issues with them? Valve has just let this general part of the community die (excluding the clan community) and it is who the game was targeted at. The game had a huge chance of being some kind of multiplayer monolith stretching across multiple platforms and now it's just too late.

It's a shame when their actions are separating a community for the same game. (PC and console)

That's what happens when you release a unfinished game and have no plans of updating it before you do it on the most popular version.

How many updates have you seen other games on the XBox get, 1 maybe 2 or three.
This is mainly the fact that when developers release their games on the XBox, it is a complete game with very few glitches, like Halo 3. Team Fortress is not a finished game in the sense that it was broken when they released it and that is why they need so many updates.
But it still amazes me how the game took over 10 years to make and it is still in need of a touch up.

Nine, I do beleive. But see, that's only because they started out with a realistic game running on the quake engine, then moved it to source, and then built a whole new game, the one that we all know as Team Fortress 2. So, in essence, it had a fairly regular development time. Nonetheless, things like skywalking and gate shooting should have been cleaned up within the first few days of release, if not beforehand (There was a beta on the PC, and guess what? People discovered those bugs.)

Those bugs were around before Valve gave us the last patch in April last year, and they chose not to fix them. Or anything else afterwards.
