Right click the steam icon in your taskbar, and select 'Exit'.

Now, go to your steam directory.

select the file 'ClientRegistry.blob' by left clicking it with your mouse.

After successfully selecting, move the index finger of your right hand over the 'delete' key. It should be labeled 'del' if you have an english keyboard. Depress the key. A warning will popup asking you if you 'really would like to send this file to the recycle bin'. Choose 'yes'.

Now restart steam.

Nah. I delete it & then restart Steam. & Steam updates straight away & adds it again. Doesn't work either if I don't restart.

Its supposed to re-add it. It just synchs up your version with the current one.

try this :

This game is unavailable

& now I can't get into steam atall. It jus comes up w/ "Steam.exe(main exception): Cannot open blob archive file: CMultiFieldBlob(mem-mapped file): Failed to open existing file, Win32 Error 5 "Access is Denied""
This is jarateing me off.

Did you try turning it off and on again?

I would uninstall steam and reinstall everything personally...

Yeh, the first thing I tried. & yeh, I think I'll re-install it. But would I have to buy DoD source again?

Do like chymus say.

Uninstall steam and everything on it, then install the thing again!
Also chek for windows, videodrivers updates.

Cheers!

Your purchased items are part of your steam account, so uninstalling the application will not affect your activation ability. Meaning that once you download the steam client again you will be presented with the applications you own and the ability to re-download them. I have installed steam on multiple new computers and this is one nice feature of Steam that I was nervous about at first too. (If the steam servers are down you essentially lose your ability to install games you purchased) I would definately install one game at a time to lower the amount of file defragmentation. After installation of all apps use the steam account options to further defrag your game files. This will help with general performance.

Turning it on and off again is an allusion to The IT Crowd and a way they make fun of general IT support, it wasn't meant to be serious but often times solves quirky issues so I'm glad you did that.

Press 'm' and it cycles though the map sizes, including 'off'.

dod_playwinmusic 0 in console.

You get to console by pressing the '~' key. If that does not work, you have to go to multiplayer options, click advanced, then check off the 'enable developer console' option
