I messed up and need some help

I tried to download some third party maps and in doing so I have gotten my files all screwed up and I need a list of the original file structure so I can get things back to where they are meant to be and start over can some body help me with please

Uninstall completely, redownload, and ask questions about where to put files before you do it again

You'll probably lose your saves, if you maybe look for those and zip them up, you can always replace those. But I'd definitely recommend a scrub and reinstall.

*edit* and, to be fair, I always ask "will this screw up my files?" before installing when someone recommends putting files anywhere near the main directory for the game. I'm always nervous about that kind of thing myself. But then I've never gotten a mod to really mess anything up, either. Which ones are you installing?
